Northwatt started with a simple frustration: shopping for backup power in Canada is confusing, and most retailers don't help.
You end up choosing between three or four units with no real explanation of what any of them can actually run — will it keep your fridge going? Your furnace fan? A sump pump through a spring thaw? Most sites won't tell you, and most staff can't either.
We built Northwatt to fix that. Every product we sell comes with real sizing guidance, not a spec sheet and a guess. We're Ontario-based, we ship within Canada, and we're not trying to sell you the most expensive unit on the page — we're trying to get you the right one.
Storm season in Ontario runs September through April. Ice storms, high winds, and days-long outages aren't rare here — they're expected. We think being ready for that shouldn't require an electrician, a permit, or a guessing game.
That's what we're building. Straightforward backup power, sized right, for the homes that need it.
